This was my last session of the year. Jacqueline and Gregory met me in Santa Monica on the coldest day of the year December 30, 2010. It had been raining for weeks in LA but I knew it will give us gorgeous sunset. I often wonder how I get so lucky with my couples who are so trusting of my work and talent. Regardless of slightly cold and windy weather these two were so relaxed and fun to photograph. For this session, I used one of my new Lensbaby for some parts and I think I love the result. For those of you who know my work, I don’t like to manipulate images too much in Photoshop, so Lensbaby works perfect for me because I can do it all inside the camera. Jacqueline and Gregory is having a destination wedding in Tri-State area in March. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding with my talented friend Leslie Talley Photography . That’s right she is my new partner in crime but AK is still my right-hand person for those of you who wonder. Congratulations again Jacqueline and Gregory!

My royal blog readers, I am so sorry that I fell so far behind updating this blog. I have no right excuses this time just pure laziness. I was busy with work but so are many others. There are a lot of sessions that I want to share with you all but I chose this love story to resume my blog.
I think that the marriage takes everyone by surprise in most cases. Some marry the person from their childhood and some marry the person that they never even thought to meet in their dreams. I married the latter. Yuka and Ryan’s love story is pretty remarkable. In China, a girl who grew up in Japan met a Korean guy who came from the states but grew up in Mexico City. So what did this brave girl did when they fell in love? She left everything behind to be with her true love. I left Korea when I was 16, and I know how hard it is to leave your friends and family behind whatever that reason is. Honestly, I am not sure if I can do what Yuka did if I were to do it over again. Yuka and Ryan, there will be more obstacles as a marriage couple from now on. I hope you two can overcome those obstacles with the laughter that you shared with me during our photo session. Congratulations and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in few weeks. Here are very few of my favorites!
Surjaya + Justin Engagement, Downtown Los Angeles
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009Okay, I know I know, I am way behind on updating my blog but you all know that I have been busy shooting so please stay in tune for future postings. I may even break once a week blog update rule. My beautiful and talented make-up artist, Surjaya is getting married this Saturday. Surjaya and I met on facebook and from the moment we exchanged our first email, I knew that we are going to be friends that could share each other’s passion. Surjaya already has worked few assignments with me and she’s done fabulous job. Surjaya also is such a warm and poised person, it’s always so nice to be around her. It’s always extra bonus to have some like that while you work at chaotic environment. Surjaya’s fiance Justin is equally talented and charming as you can see this slide show. on warm Sunday afternoon, we met in downtown did this fun shoot. Thanks to few nice ladies, Surjaya and Jusitn show off their dance moves. No wonder, they met dancing at the wedding. I can wait to see them dance again as a husband and a wife on Saturday.

UCLA Pre_Wedding Photography {Jennifer + Matt}: Engagement
Wednesday, June 10th, 2009This session took place at UCLA because this is where this tall handsome French guy met a gorgeous and intelligent American girl. Though they both deny that it wasn’t love at first sight, I am convinced that they pretty much knew that their story will turn out this way. Mattieu proposed at the Laguna Beach so we added little bit of beach scene to their session at the Santa Monica Pier. Jennifer and Matthieu was both very creative and willing to do anything for the shot! My kind of couple! So here are very few of my favorite of the day. Thank you Jen and Matt , AK and I both had wonderful time photographing you two, we can’t wait to see you again in July.
This very first shot was taken by AK who has been coming to 2nd shoot for me. AK even took basic photography classes with me while I was in school and has been shooting with me for now past 6years! I really have to give him more credit on my blog because he manages to capture these precious moments. Thank you honey for being my biggest supporter. XOXO
San Francisco Pre-Prewedding Photography {Linda+David} : engagements
Sunday, May 24th, 2009On a warm Sunday afternoon, We met Linda and David at the Slanted door in San Francisco. Linda and I had been e-mailing for few months now. Instantly, we became facebook friends but we had never met before. We thought it would be nice to get to know each other in person before the engagement session so we decided to meet for lunch. Linda and David had been close friends for 5 years before they recently got engaged. Maybe it was because their relationship grew out of a friendship, David was always so very attentive to Linda and Linda was also very sweet with him. I loved the way Linda called David, “Babe” not “Baby”- (Hope it was okay to reveal that Linda) They were a little camera shy in the beginning but they got over that half way through our shoot. David surprised me with some hidden GQ poses at the end of our session. Linda was so patient with the cold breeze that bothered us a little at the end of the session. It was hot and long day in San Francisco but we still liked each other at the end of the shoot so we went to dinner together in Oakland where we had Kalbi and soju! What a perfect way to end the evening. I am starting this preview with our last image because I just love everything about this picture. Linda and David, Can’t wait to photograph your wedding in August! Enjoy this preview.
At Baker beach where we caught one of the most amazing moments in San Francisco. The fog was rolling in right before sunset.
One of our first shots of the day. David was uncomfortable in front of my camera at first but he was very witty.
Can’t forget the ring shot! Ladies, can we say that David did well?
Their moment before I began directing the shots. I don’t really like to direct my subjects too much because I really love capturing them as they are.
We were so lucky to find this cute store called “Cheen-goo” . It means “friends” in Korean. That’s who they were before they got engaged.
Linda is so beautiful inside and out.

The warm flare…You guys, please remember these warm and fuzzy moments always.
So in love…
I told Linda I loved the way she laughed. Her laughter was addictive!
Here, David was slowly getting use to me making bad jokes.
Perhaps it was their love that made this scene so beautiful
They are so HAPPY that they found each other!
But to be honest, they were just so happy to be done with their engagement session because we were all really hungry.
