Melody + Mike @ { The Condor’s Nest Ranch }

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Since I made big deal about attending friend’s wedding as a guest on my social media page for weeks, I thought I’d share few images with you from this beautiful wedding.  I intentionally leave my professional gears at home when I attend the event as a guest.  Being a photographer is my profession and I love what I do but I just end up shooting all the time if I have a camera in my hands.  Not having full professional photographic gear stops me from being “that” photographer.  Now no judging here…I enjoyed watching old friends getting married and captured few moments that caught my eyes.

I am also trying to tell aspiring photographers that you don’t need to dig into your child’s college fund to buy 8K pro-level camera.  Do they produce better image files? Yes of course! actually it’s great to have such a powerful machine.  However if you don’t really learn how to use it, know that it can work against you.  Once a respected photographer confessed during his seminar that he has been using “P”-mode on his camera (program mode: your camera chooses exposure for you but you still can control few other manual functions. It’s very similar to Auto mode)  Well, there is nothing wrong with that because his photo-journalistic images are beautiful. He captures emotions. I forget to focus on capturing essence of people because the wedding is such a fast moving event and I have so much to cover.  But this time it was much easier to do so at friend’s wedding. I know what you are thinking, was Tammie being a “photo bomber” at this wedding?  The answer is no.  As a photographer I watch where the other photographers are. I should say I watch everything that goes on at the wedding.  I usually introduce myself to the main photographer if I am shooting at friend’s wedding.  A special thank you goes to the day of photographer, Susan Sabo for allowing me to capture these moments. This is just a right way to do it. I was as far away as I can be and some images are shot in between the uncles and aunts shoulders. It was rather cute to watch them pointing cameras at bride and groom through out the ceremony.

Congratulations Melody + Mike, looking forward to watch your family grow with love!  We really enjoyed being part of your special day.  Melody and Mike chose The Condor’s Nest Ranch in Temecula as their venue. It suit their laid back personality and they added much of their style to the details of this wedding.  Melody’s talented friend Jaconie Events and her team did an amazing job creating this fun and elegant event.

Wedding Inspiration by Photographer: Hair

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

This is new categories that I am adding to my blog entry. As a photographer, I wanted to create my own inspirational board for my readers.Certainly, I am not a stylist so I will make this brief and simple. It’s more like Tammie’s favorite things.  As I browse Internet, it always amazes me how amazing these modern brides look on their wedding photos.  Each have their own distinctive style. I am old fashioned. I still love laced wedding gown and mantilla veil on brides personally, but as a photographer I love photographing a bride who wants to be daring!
I guess these hair pieces represent  ”Vintage” with modern twist.
I just love them!  Jen and Jamie at Ban.do do such a wonderful job. I love their new dramatic ones.  You should definitely visit their site.
So if you are looking to make statement and not afraid of having fun how about we do the session with some of these hair pieces.  Or wear the veil for your ceremony and wear these for your photography session.

Rancho Las Lomas, Trisha + Steven Wedding 05.10.08

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Few weeks ago, my dear friend Matt asked me to shoot with him at the Trisha and Steven’s gorgeous wedding in Rancho Las Lomas. If you are getting married and looking for a location this is the place! The weather was so perfect and Trisha and Steven were very laid-back.
Here are few of my favorites of the day!
Trisha and Steven were in game for everything we asked them to do. Well, Trisha was very fit so we made them run little bit!

My friend Matt is the romantist himself. It was wonderful to watch him at work. I love this peaceful moment that we captured.
Now, you know why wedding photographers love to shoot weddings at The Rancho Las Lomas!- Don’t you just love this yellow swing?
Matt was nice enough to let me shoot this one!

I love everything about this shot!
Father and daughter dance – I am always drawn to the emotions captured in photography. This little man Nate asked me to dance. -yes he did…

Pacific Palisades, Robin + Johannes Wedding 05.11.08

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

I just came back from my birthday dinner with friends but I have to post this beautiful wedding that I shot last Sunday. Robin and Johannes met through a mutual friend. A beautiful aspiring actress from Pacific Palisades meets a talented music producer from Germany. Their simple but stylish wedding ceremony was filled with love and emotion. I was hired to shoot their ceremony only, but I love photographing intimate ceremony like this one. I overheard that they even celebrate first kiss anniversary. How cute is that! Their family and friends flew in from the distance and Robin’s best friend helped with flowers. Robin and Johannes’s gentle soul must have touched many lives.
Enjoy this teaser entry guys, Thank you for letting me document your wedding day!

Indian Springs Ranch

Monday, April 21st, 2008
I met Gail from Indian Springs Ranch at Brides.com party and she invited me to her beautiful Ranch in Sylmar, Ca last Thursday afternoon. This 40 acre ranch is going to make someone’s wedding unforgettable. I love being in outdoors so being invitied to Indian Springs Ranch was like a vacation to me.
I met with more talents in the wedding industry; My Wedding Blooms, Wedding Jeannie (I love this name!), La Creme Bakery , The Venetian Palace and Open Box Designes This ranch has so much potential, I can’t wait to see how Jeannie Ward from Wedding Jeannie will transform this place for one of her weddings in the future. Jeannie kindly shared her knowledge with us during the party and I just read PDN article where she was interviewed!
Gail has a warm smile and sexy British accent!
